HOW
The device is equipped with a 2MHz bipolar radio frequency with minimally invasive non insulated micro needle electrodes. The technology is developed in Silicon Valley USA and uses SR3 (Selective Regional Regeneration Radio) Repeated Pulse (RP).
This device generates an electro thermal reaction in the target tissues by converting electrical current into heat energy , depending on the resistance of the tissue. Since SYLFIRM preferentially targets dermal vessels due to the high conductivity of the dermis compared to the epidermis, it effectively avoids damaging overlying pigment containing cells (melanocytes) in the epidermis thus reducing the incidence of post inflammatory pigmentation.
SYLFIRM then targets the abnormal blood vessels in the dermis through its thermocoagulation effect and eliminates these vessels as well as inducing normalisation of VEGF overproduction. There is also remodeling of the skin basement membrane (wall between the epidermis and dermis) making it stronger and blocking the migration of melanin pigment from the epidermis to the dermis.
The treatment procedure is virtually painless and has no downtime. While the frequency and number of treatments may vary depending on each person’s skin concerns, it usually takes at least 3 treatment sessions to see a visible improvement.
The treatments can be repeated at 3-4 weeks intervals and then it can be done at longer intervals for maintenance. At NU•U, SLYFIRM is sometimes combined with the DUAL YELLOW LASER in a single treatment session as the effects are synergistic.
