PDO THREADLIFT is suitable for the younger patient seeking a more defined V-face lift as well the more matured patient who is not ready for a surgical facelift.
HOW
The threads are made of PDO (polydioxanone) which is basically a suture thread with a long safety record. The procedure is performed under topical anaesthesia as well as infiltration using a cannula with a tumescent anaesthetic.
The actual procedure takes about 10-30 minutes to perform depending on the number of threads used. There are different types of PDO threads available but the ones used in our clinic are multi-directional spiral threads which enables more anchoring in 360 degrees thus giving more lifting strength (mechanical effect).
Because the multi-directional cogs hold tissue more evenly there is an even distribution of strength with hardly any unexpected results like dimpling, inflammation or protrusion.
These threads also have a regenerative effect resulting in collagen stimulation and possible neovascularisation leading to tighter and younger looking skin.
The effects of the PDO THREADLIFT can be enhanced or combined with other skin tightening procedures like HIFU or Radiofrequency as well as fillers and toxins.
RESULTS
Because PDO THREADLIFT is bio-degradable, the threads will dissolve in about 6-8 months. On average, results are expected to last about 12 – 18 months.
POST TREATMENT
There is minimal swelling after the procedure which takes 1-3 days to resolve.
