HOW
An intense pulsed light is applied in a series of gentle pulses over the treatment area. Without damaging the skin, the light penetrates through the skin and is absorbed by the haemoglobin of the abnormally dilated capillaries or the melanin of the pigmented lesion. The heat causes the lesion to fragment and the dilated capillaries to close, the body then begins its natural healing process. I2PL™ stimulates fibroblast activity encouraging the formation of new collagen and elastin thereby improving the appearance of the fine lines and an overall skin texture.
The number of sessions recommended depends on the specific condition and the size of the area being treated. Doctor will discuss this with you before treatments commence. For optimal results multiple treatments are sometimes recommended depending on your individual skin condition. Follow-up treatments may be recommended to maintain results.
Treatment varies from 15 to 45 mintues depending on the size of the area to be treated.
You will experience bright flashes, as well as a slight sensation of heat accompanied by the feeling of a rubber-band snapping against the treated area as the pulses of therapeutic light are passed over your skin. The sensation is very mild and easily tolerated. Topical anesthetic creams are not required but are available for individuals who have a lower pain threshold.
RESULTS
The majority of people will achieve most of their improvement after five treatments are performed. Improvement is gradual and becomes evident after several treatments have been completed. You can expect:

POST TREATMENT
You will feel temporary warmth and a slight flushing of the treated areas that should fade within the hour. If you wish, you may apply powder or make-up right away.
Please stay out of the sun and wear sunblock over treated areas. Do not use exfoliating scrubs on skin for the first week. Otherwise, you should be able to resume normal scheduled activities immediately.
